Mac Os Waiting For Dsmos

Waiting

When you boot your Mac in verbose mode (cmd+V on startup), it hangs on the text “Waiting for DSMOS” and is booting a lot slower than usual. Go to your Applications folder. Open the Utilities folder. Copy and paste the following command into the Terminal window: sudo chown root:admin /. But, now on a third machine, a Mac Mini 5,3 running a brand new install of OS X 10.11 on a freshly formatted and erased HDD, I created another 10.9 guest. It is the only guest on the machine. Same settings for network (bridged adapter) with just a different MAC address.

Mac Os Wait For Dsmos
Hello everybody,
sometimes when I boot up my 24' iMac from 2008, it stucks during the phase, when the Apple-logo appears and the wheel is spinning. As you can hear (if you would be at my desk ;-)), there is many load on the harddisk and it won't pass this point. If I shutdown the iMac and hit the power-button again, everything boots up normally. I've read in the log files, that this happens, when DSMOS is going to be initialized.
I have already tried to repair the permissions, check the harddisk for errors and I even reinstalled with the SL-DVD. What you must know, this was an upgrade installation from Leopard, which was shipped with this device.
Maybe you could give me a hint, what I can do, without having to set up my device anew.
Thanks in advance for help and Greetings,
Daniel
