Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered has been in the rumour mill for a number of months running at this point. After first being mentioned in June, the game has since then been seen in multiple retailer listings, and at this point, even in the absence of an official announcement by EA, it’s looking likely that the game will be releasing sooner or later.
And it might be sooner. As spotted by Gematsu on Twitter, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered was recently rated for PS4 by the Game Rating and Administration Committee (GRAC) in South Korea. Games are handed age ratings only when they’re close to launch, and seeing that, an official announcement of this game might be around the corner.
Reports have suggested that the remaster will be releasing on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. Meanwhile, the next new Need for Speed game is also currently in development at Criterion, who were also the developers of the original Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit (the 2010 release, that is).

If we are talking about the world of racing games, then some so many contenders made a separate fanbase for itself. But when we hear the word Racing Games, then Need for Speed surely popped in our mind, and we are relying on the franchise for a long time. The recent release Heat went well for the fans and they pretty liked the last installment.

But now we are focusing on the next version release, and EA didn’t reveal much other than a quick glimpse of their next installment.
Hot Pursuit Remastered
Surprises are no longer surprises when the exciting thing already leaked before its initial plan to reveal it. The same happened with Need for Speed’s next installment as Amazon mistakenly leaked the next title. Amazon leaked Need for Speed Hot Pursuit on their digital platform with the respective platforms of Nintendo Switch and Xbox One, and we are also counting on a PC release as well.
Many users took a screenshot before the leak taken down by the website. So either it could be a publicity stunt by EA itself, or it got mistakenly leaked by Amazon as it happened with Far Cry 6.
Will It Happen?
However, we can’t rule out the fact that the next installment’s title is not confirmed yet. So either this could be for real, and the next title could be Hot Pursuit Remastered. Likes of Most Wanted also got rebooted, so there is no denying the fact that a Remastered version could be under development.

If we’re talking about this year there is no scope for Electronic exhibitions, so it could happen next fall and the user could witness the next version of Need for Speed in another version of the EA Play event.
